Your rights to privacy

We Dream Incorporated Pty Ltd (ABN 65 135 713 952) (referred to in this document as “we” and “us”) recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of personal information collected from you and your right to privacy.

We are committed to complying with the requirements of Australian privacy legislation applying to the handling of personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we will manage your personal information.

Subject to any exceptions available to us under the legislation, we are bound by the requirements of the Federal Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the National Privacy Principles regarding the collection, use, disclosure and storage of personal information. "Personal Information" is information or an opinion about an individual whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion.

1. When is personal information collected?

Personal information is collected from you: (a) when you register your interest in the Dream Inc Music Workshops (the “Workshops”); (b) when you register as a participant in the Workshops; (c) when you modify the personal information that we hold about you by communicating with us; or (d) when you otherwise send or provide personal information to us and when you attend the Workshops. In addition our server collects certain information when you use this website (the “Website”) and this is set out in more detail at section 2 below.

2. What personal information will we collect from you?

We collect the following personal information from you when you register as a participant in the Workshops: (a) contact details (name, address, phone numbers and email address); (b) date of birth; (c) medical details; and (d) bank details. If you send us additional information via email, post or other format, we may also retain this.

When you browse the Website, our service provider logs the following information for statistical purposes:
• your server address;
• top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, etc.);
• the date and time of your web-site visit;
• the pages you looked at;
• the documents you down-loaded;
• the previous site you visited; and
• the type of browser you used.
We will not try to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the service provider's logs.

We may use cookies in connection with the provision of the Website. Cookies are an industry standard and most major web sites use them. A cookie is a small text file that the Website may place in the browser file of your hard drive which helps us collect general information about visitor behaviour on our site, track password functions and to help us develop better functionality within our site. As such, cookies are designed to improve your experience of the Website. In some cases, cookies may collect and store personal information about you. We extend the same privacy protection to your personal information gathered via cookies as from other sources. You can adjust your Internet browser to disable cookies or to warn you when cookies are being used. However, if you disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain areas of the Website or take advantage of the improved Website experience that cookies offer.

We may also use an outside advertising company to display advertisements on the Website. These advertisements may contain cookies. Cookies received with banner ads are collected by our advertising company, and we do not have access to, or control over, this information.

3. How will my personal information be used?

Your personal information will be used in: (a) our organisation and staging of the Workshops; (b) billing arrangements; (c) our internal use for improving the Workshops and Website; (d) meeting our legal obligations; (e) statistical analysis of usage of the Website; (f) administrative purposes connected with the Website; and (g) other disclosure where required at law.

We may also create records containing personal information about you in the course of activities relating to staging the Workshops (the “Records”). We are committed to keeping your personal information contained in any such Records secure. We will take all reasonable precautions to safeguard the Records from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Navigational data collected by our system that identifies you personally will not be used. We may aggregate this data use the results in order to improve the Website. We may do this by using the aggregated data to monitor site usage, for marketing to banner advertisers and to improve the look, content and navigation of the Website.

4. Will my personal information be provided to others?

Your personal information may be disclosed to third parties in the staging of the Workshops. Additionally, we may provide your personal information to third parties in processing and collecting payments owed to us.

There are other organisations that are connected to the Workshops which may have access to your personal information. They are: (a) sponsors and other supporters and stakeholders in the Workshops; (b) our member and affiliated organisations, including related bodies corporate; (c) web development companies that are contracted to develop and maintain the Website; and (d) auditors and regulators for compliance purposes.

5. Risks of using the Internet

You should note that there are security risks in transmitting information via the internet. You should assess these potential risks when deciding whether to supply information in connection with the Website. If you do not wish to transmit information via the Website, there are other ways in which you can provide this information, such as by mail, telephone or on-site visit.

6. Why do we need your personal information?

We need your personal information in order that we can effectively stage the Workshops. We also need your personal information to improve the Website and the Workshops. If you choose not to provide your personal information, we will not be able to include you as participant of the Workshops or otherwise provide our services to you.

7. How do we keep your personal information safe?

We encrypt the transmission of personal data between your browser and our Website server using thawte SSL 123 certificate so information remains secure when sent to us. Secure Server Software (SSL) is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address so that unauthorized persons cannot access it over the Internet.
Paper records catering your personal information will be kept in locked filing cabinets and will be destroyed following the passing of no more than 7 years after the staging of the Workshop(s) at which you participate.

8. Can you see or ask for amendment to the personal information we have collected about you?

In most circumstances you have a right to see what personal information we hold about you. To obtain this information, please contact us as set out below. The Privacy Act gives limited circumstances in which some or all access to this information may be denied. If this applies to you, we will explain this to you.

You may also request us in writing to amend records containing your personal information if you believe they are inaccurate for any reason. The easiest way to do this is to amend the details in your profile on the Member Detail section of the website.

We will deal with all requests for access or amendment to personal information as quickly as possible.

10. Changes to this Policy

From time to time it may be necessary for us to review and revise our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy at any time. We may notify you about changes to this Privacy Policy by posting an updated version on the Website.
