The Dream Inc. Music Workshops are an exciting and refreshing alternative to standard music workshops and singing classes currently available in Australia. They will be held this coming August 14-15 at the Parkview Hotel Melbourne.
At the Dream Inc Music Workshops you will learn how to sing, how to perform and how to write a song with super star artists and experienced music teachers. Can you imagine yourself getting audition and singing tips from Marcia Hines? How about some keys on how to stand out and get seen by some of the industry’s best from Michael Gudinski? Did you ever think that Connie Mitchell and Angus McDonald from Sneaky Sound System would be teaching you how to develop your skills and personally help you write a hit song!
The Dream Inc. Music Workshops are truly unique. Not only will we have established artists and superstar acts sharing not just their skills and artistry we will also have seasoned music industry professionals guiding our participants like Marcia Hines, Michael Gudinski (CEO- Mushroom Group), Michael Parisi (ex-A&R Warner Music and MD Mushroom Records) and David Jaanz (Founder of David Jaanz School Of Singing).
On top of this we’re creating an environment where there is no expectation and no pressure. We want everyone involved to not just enjoy themselves, but to be themselves.
- Marcia Hines
- Michael Gudinski (CEO of the Mushroom Group)
- Connie Mitchell (Sneaky Sound System)
- Angus McDonald (Sneaky Sound System)
- Dan Sultan (Dan Sultan Band)
- Sarah Godden (Established writer who has worked with the likes of Vanessa Amorosi, Tessa James from Home & Away and many more)
Over the two-day event you will be educated on aspects of singing, songwriting and performance. Learn from some of the best singing teachers, songwriters and artists not only Australia, but the world has to offer.
Dream Inc Workshops are all about the evolution from the singer to the artist, then connecting you with recording artists and the record companies that found them! If you are a singer that has never had a singing lesson, you are gigging or you are even a singing teacher, no matter where you are in your Music Career, Dream Inc. Music Workshops will be able to take you to your next level.
Dream Inc Music Workshops will allow you to develop your skills and creativity and boost confidence.
A portion of all profits will be donated to beyondblue: the national depression initiative and free beyondblue information materials will be available to participants.
The exciting aspect of the workshops is that the focus of the teaching programme will be the evolution of the singer to the artist. It will compliment the students currently enrolled in different singing schools studying different techniques and cater for the beginner to professional.
Our days will be split into different categories, Day 1 will focus on singing and performance and Day 2 will focus on songwriting. We will also have sessions from ‘Beginner – I’ve never had a lesson, performed or written a song’ to ‘Professional – Teacher, playing gigs regularly and write songs for a living.’ We believe that our Workshops will build on your current or past training, so no matter if you’ve had or you are having lessons currently we believe you will be able to learn something out of these workshops. For those of you that don't play an instrument don't worry, we will have teachers/songwriters available to assist you with songwriting so even if you can’t play an instrument these Workshops are for you. We cater for all experience levels and the course is suitable from students at Year 7/High School age.
Visit our About The Workshops area for more detail on what happens during the 2 day workshop. It will be an incredible 2 day journey into self discovery and creativity.
We are extremely pleased to announce that Sony, EMI and Warner have joined forces with the Dream Inc. Music Workshops to provide the 2010 Development Deals to participants at this year's inaugural workshop. A&R Executives from these record companies will be choosing the most talented students from the end of day performances. Imagine that, you could be lucky enough to be working with the creative folks at Sony, EMI or Warner and find yourself recording your very own songs in a studio! It is an amazing opportunity for any aspiring artist to perform in front of these people, let alone with the chance of picking up one of the deals. The Development Deals will give each recipient the chance to record their own songs in a proper recording studio, with an experienced engineer and overseen by professional A&R people over a week long period. They will come out of it with a professional demo and invaluable experience and contacts.
Michael Parisi of Michael Parisi Management, and former president of A&R for Warner Music Australia said, "These deals will provide a young artist with a unique opportunity to develop their craft with the help of professional A&R people. It's like finding a gold ticket in a chocolate bar for any aspiring artist!"
To be in the chance to receive one of these Development Deals you must first purchase your ticket and be at the Dream Inc Music Workshops and get the chance to perform for the Guest Artists and Record Company representatives each day.
We offer just one ticket in 2010, the full 2 day pass for $595. This year our Workshops will be a progression starting from our opening session on day 1 to our last session on day 2.
